American tradition and the American mindset run to the contrary of this document. first uniting with canada and mexico would result in a massive trade deficit as they are both huge trading partners. bringing them into the fold per say would exchange a profit for a cost. Also a union would result in a decrease in the value of the dollar or its new union equivalent. it is an economically unsound idea and America is the land of business men even if our government would like to think other wise. on a philosophical point, America and Americans value independence over all other things a union violates that idea of American exceptionalism that we worked so hard to creat and hold dear. things like this have been being said since the cold war and nato. however in the end its just something people say.

on another note, does anyone else find anonymous the people who started wikileaks to be cyber terrorists praying on the common man with their actions including the shut down of the bank of America site and the hijacking of psn. both these actions didnt hurt either company but rather the innocent people who use those companies services especially in the case of Bank of America (the largest bank in the world=most customers=most people screwed over). also there spokesmen julian asanj is a wanted rapist. its fair to say i dont see these men and women as people who disperse noble information but just a group of thieves and terrorists.

i'm really only qualified to chat about anon. anywhos, iirc, it seems as though Anonymous has sort of separated into factions, one of which is simply trying to cause media chaos. that same faction is probably the leading cause behind the later actions of Anon, including the attack on PSN, but i'm not entirely sure, as the information about the splintering of Anon was given by a supposed member of Anon, which lends itself to a lack of credibility.

'Anonymous' is just whoever happens to be on /b/ at a given time. 80% of them are normal young adults, bored and trying to fill their afternoons with entertainment. It's the minority who stir up shit like that, and it's the minority who recieve all the media coverage. Like-minded individuals are always going to find a way to group together and further their agendas, and it's no different on 4chan. Once they 'splinter' into their 'factions', they're not really part of the horde anymore - which is why it's so frustrating when the hatred gets directed at everyone who wasn't involved.

Anyway, it's interesting to see someone so passionate about the issue. How are you so certain that the current trade benefits will cease? Wouldn't it be easier for Mexican citizens to purchase American goods once the borders are opened? It seems to me that business would increase, not decrease.

think about a north american union where a 7.25 minimum wage is universal...the production of mexico would plummit due to new imposed regulation. Mexican people would in effect become poorer as their economy was forced to become the same as ours atleast price wise. the average mexican citizen would even find it hard to shop at an american wal-mart that boasts 10% lower prices than all its competitors on average. this is not to say Mexico is a lesser country or that the Mexican people are lesser naturally but that their money is simply worth less than ours. furthermore what would they do with the peso in this union or the loonie of canada...would the dollar become the standard currency? (this would make sense as the dollar is the standard currency of the world and trade.) or would an Amero...be instilled and what would be done with all the old tender? finally canada is socialist and though America has taken a great deal of socialist measures since most notably the bailout, socialism is greatly opposed in America and only finds support among fringe "intellectuals" and disillusioned college students who dont believe they should have to pay for anything.

on a side note i am extremely pro capitalism and laisez faire economy. also i am an objectivist and i embrace the philosophy of Ayn Rand. so you could say im a libertarian and that this is an extremely right economic view.

Also in regards to Mark Zuckerburg he may be an abbrasive arrogant asshole, but he is a genius bussiness man and his creation facebook has changed the social landscape and even played a major role in the Arab Spring. I agree he deserved man of the year...then again Hitler was man of the year in 1941 i believe....and for all positive things...

If every person I knew didn't use FB, I wouldn't use it. It's a train wreck waiting to happen.
